Favorites: Grammys 2016

I’ve been super excited for the Grammys because I heard Adele was performing, so because I unfortunately cannot attend her concert, this would do. As usual, the fashion was something I was also looking forward to and I know that the Grammys calls for more fun and out-of-the-box looks! Although the looks could be crazier, I kind of liked the more glamorous and elegant outfits this year. Take a look at my faves below!

Basic Trench Coat

IMG_4677

Nothing is more classic than your regular ol’ trench coat. I love being able to throw it over anything and it makes your outfit so chic and put together. This one was purchased from LOFT and it is perfect in material AND fit. I try to purchase from brands that provide petite sizing since I can skip the step of having to get my clothes tailored! Sigh…life of a petite girl!

I paired the trench with a comfy jersey dress and booties for a perfect Fall/Winter outfit in LA! I love being able to pretty much feel like I’m in PJs by wearing a loose and relaxed dress! The boyfriend calls it cheating but as long as I feel good and it still looks presentable, WHY NOT?!

Foodie Friday: Brunch Edition

Like all other bloggers, I love brunch. I can’t help it! Waffles, toast, eggs, bacon, teas, coffees! The list just goes on!! I guess when you live in LA, THE thing to do on the weekend is go have brunch. Can’t complain though, it’s just something I always want to do on my weekends.

Below are pictures of my meals, from homemade to my favorite local spots! πŸ™‚

Valentine’s Day Date Outfits

Valentine's Day Date Outfits
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and even though the boyfriend and I don’t generally celebrate or make it a big deal, it’s fun for me to think about different outfits for date nights! Here are a couple of outfit ideas that I would wear (maybe more of the bottom option), but I figured that I should come up with a dressier alternative!
The soft and feminine outfit has two pretty lace dresses in soft and neutral colors (just to give you options!). I love the lace details on both dresses and I love sleeves on dresses n general, so they were right up my alley. I can’t tell you how many lace dresses I have, but it never hurts to get more! πŸ™‚
The cool and edge outfit is more of something I’d wear. The boyfriend and I don’t normally get super dressed up for our nights out, so you’ll usually find me in skinny jeans, a pretty blouse, and heels. I love very sleek and minimal outfits.

Favorites: SAG Awards 2016

I missed the SAG Awards this year but I didn’t fail to look up the red carpet looks for the night!! It’s my favorite part anyways, so let’s just get right to it!!

Check out a couple of my picks for this year!

Lace Up Shoes

Lace Up Shoes

In the past year, I’ve been falling in love with anything with lace ups! It’s probably because I see them on so many Instagram accounts and they add both edge and femininity to an outfit. Whether it comes to heels, flats, or sandals, the more the better in my eyes! The only problem I run into is having to take them off and being that I live in an Asian household, we always have to take our shoes off when we enter a house. Now imagine having to unravel your laces from around your ankles and then putting it back on when you leave the house! But other than that, I cannot stop buying them and probably won’t fall out of love with this trend for a while!
What do you think? πŸ™‚

Joshua Tree

IMG_4527

The boyfriend and I decided to take a quick weekend getaway to lovely Joshua Tree to celebrate the end of his finals last month. It was our first time there so we were super excited to explore and take our little Zooey (our husky lab) with us! We got an Airbnb so that we had a yard for Zooey to roam but the highlight of our trip was visiting the Joshua Tree National Park.

They don’t allow pets on the hiking trails but we were still able to drive to each view point and let Zooey explore around there. We soaked in the amazing views of the infamous Joshua trees, rock formations, and swirly clouds. It was such a nice relief from being in the city! Would love to go back there and may camp next time!

Frolicking in the Snow

IMG_4416

Denver is such a beautiful city and is a winter wonderland during the holidays. Maybe it’s because I rarely see snow in LA, I appreciated it more during our trip. We went to get lunch and found this little park nearby. My friend went straight to snowman making mode and I frolicked around crunching my boots in the snow!

I bundled up really well but I should probably invest in thicker coats. Just don’t know how often I’d wear one but in situations like these, I really want one! πŸ™‚

Snowy Wedding

IMG_4366

Being that I am a California girl, I was definitely not prepared to brave the cold in Denver. We attended a good friend’s wedding and it just so happened that on the day of the wedding, it dropped about 20 degrees from the day before and snowed. I had no idea how to dress for a snowy wedding but I did what I could!

I purchased this silky maxi skirt from Lulus and paired it with a blue cami, grey cardigan (under my coat), and a camel coat from H&M. What I should have done was wear some leggings underneath but I didn’t think that far when packing my suitcase!

Of course, we wanted to explore the city a bit and stopped at a nearby park to take in the gorgeous winter landscape. It sounded much better in our heads as I walked through the snow with a pair of pumps and bare legs under my maxi! It was so terribly cold that all I could do was laugh through it. No words, just laughing hysterically. I guess it was the only way my body could comprehend the cold and try to warm itself up. πŸ™‚

It’s something I’ll never forget and it makes for a great story!
