Blush Coat

I admit I have way too much outerwear for someone that lives in LA, but I can honestly say that it’s been unusually colder this Winter! I recently purchased this blush coat (maybe right before it got really cold) and I’ve definitely worn it quite a few times. It’s so soft and elevates my outfits. You can dress it up or down, whichever way you feel like, so I can vouch for its versatility!

GIVEAWAY: FORMULATE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

WHAT IS FORMULATE?
Formulate is a company that creates a personalized set of shampoo and conditioner based on your hair. It’s preservative free, paraben free, sulfate free, and cruelty free, which are all pluses in my book!

HOW IT WORKS
You start off by doing a detailed survey on your hair goals, your hair type, what scent you want, etc. Once they receive all of that information, they begin engineering your unique blend. You will then be sent a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of conditioner. If you’re not fully happy with your first set, you can have the formula adjusted and a whole new set will be sent to you free of cost. They will make sure to adjust it until you are fully happy with the product.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
For me personally, I have dry hair. It’s probably from coloring and just having naturally dry hair to begin with. I asked for a blend that will help keep moisture in my hair and make it look healthy. After using it for just a couple of weeks, I noticed that my hair and scalp were less dry and less frizzy. I am used to using sulfate free hair products, so the lather was not something that bothered me too much. If you are used to having lots of foamy soap and lather to your shampoo, it’s probably because you’ve been using one that contains sulfate. Sulfate is not great for your hair because it strips the natural oils from your hair and makes is dry and brittle. I did have to make one adjustment with my set, but just as they promised, a whole new set was quickly sent out to me and I’m very happy with it now!

GIVEAWAY!!!!
Because of how excited I am with this product, I’ve teamed up with Formulate to throw this GIVEAWAY for a free set of shampoo and conditioner to the lucky winner. ALSO, all entries will receive $5 off their purchase, so it’s a win win for everyone!

Entries will be accepted until 3/23/19. This is only open to US residents.

White Off Shoulder Shirt and Jeans

I honestly can’t even count how many times I wear a white shirt and jeans. It is my go-to combo and I’m not ashamed of it! Don’t change it if it works! I love this white bodysuit because of the off-shoulder details and that I don’t have to worry about tucking my shirt in or anything. It looks smooth and clean, so I don’t have to worry about adjusting my shirt in my pants!

Navy Sheer Ruffled Blouse

I went to the Lush Clothing sample sale a couple months ago and snagged this beautiful sheer, ruffled blouse. I love shopping sample sales because I can’t ever pass up a great deal and I think you can still find amazing pieces at a bargain! I felt like I was in that scene in ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ with Isla Fisher where it was every woman for herself and everyone’s running around with tons of clothes in their hands! Kind of an overwhelming experience but I can’t deny that I got some great deals.

Wedding Wednesday: Bridesmaids Gifts

I wanted to create a chic, modern gift set for my bridesmaids gifts which included little trinkets and things that I liked! I think the most difficult part for me was to decide on what items to choose and setting a budget for it. I honestly only wanted to spend maybe $30 a box because I have 8 bridesmaids. Yes, I know that’s a lot but I honestly could not cut it down any more than that!

I shopped around for a bit until I decided on what I wanted to put into the box. I loved the look of clean, white round boxes with a sleek black ribbon. I’ve seen a ton of gift box websites where you can customize your bridesmaids gift box but they were extremely expensive. They’re super cute but way too costly for my budget, so I diy’d it myself. I found it to be really fun and I was really happy with how they turned out!

Here’s what I used to create these!

  • Container Store round gift box: I love the shape, simplicity, and almost perfectness of the box. I actually spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect box. I know, it’s probably not the most important thing but for some reason, it was really important to me as to what type of box I used. The Container Store has a lot of options if you’re looking for gift boxes and these are really sturdy and well made.
  • Black ribbon : I wanted to make the gift box look really sleek and clean, which called for a thin black ribbon tied around the gift box.
  • Well Kept Screen Cleansing Towelettes: These wipes are for cleaning your phone screen and any lenses, which we often overlook. I also loved that these towelettes are towards a good cause. “The “Lady” pattern is in honor of the men, women & children trapped in slavery around the world today. A portion of the proceeds from this pack will be donated to enditmovement.com a coalition of the leading organizations in the world in the fight for FREEDOM by spreading awareness, prevention, rescue, and restoration.”
  • Soaprocklet in White Opal: I found these super cute soaps that look like crystal gems from a store called Riley Rose and they smelled sooooo good! When you open the gift box, you get a lovely scent from these soaps and the girls have all mentioned how much they love it! They are also made of a unique blend of whole herb extracts, vitamins, and minerals, from aquatic, botanical, and terrestrial sources.
  • Sugarfina cookies and cream milkshake chocolates: I wanted to add some cute treats in my box and Sugarfina has the most amazing candies that are packaged so nicely in clean, clear plastic cubes. They are a little pricey but sometimes, you can find a sale or deal at the store. Keep an eye out for that.
  • Target Card with a marble print: I bought these cute little blank cards from Target that had a clean marble print on the front. They were a great way for me to write a little note to all the girls. I went with writing a very fond memory I’ve had with each of them just to really personalize each card when asking if they could be my bridesmaid.
  • Paddywax Candle in Sea Salt + Sage – I love Paddywax candles so I found these small, mini candles to put into the gift boxes for the girls. They just fit so perfectly and their packaging really enhances the entire box!

This was how I personally put my gift boxes together but have fun with it and make it your own! You can put whatever gifts you want inside, change up the packaging to match your personality or wedding theme, etc! Look below for ideas on what else you can fill the boxes with!

Loft Petite Picks

I love shopping at Loft because it has so many petite friendly pieces and has a large variety of essentials and staples! I often find great deals on the clothes there and I find the quality to be really good so a lot of my pieces from there, like the above army green jacket, tend to last much longer than others! They currently have 50% off a lot of items and the rest is 40% off with the code YESPLEASE. Definitely take advantage of it and stock up on some great pieces!

LA Winters

Winters in LA aren’t way too bad, but since I get cold pretty easily, I’ll usually have a coat or jacket with me, JUST IN CASE! I threw on my trusty black coat over a comfy sweater, some loose boyfriend jeans, and block heeled booties. Keeps me warm and it’s as relaxed as can be! 🙂

Black and White Florals

I’m trying to incorporate more prints into my wardrobe but I try to stick to more subtle, small prints so that it doesn’t overwhelm me. Bolder and bigger prints tend to make me look even smaller than I already am, so for my petite frame, it’s best to go for smaller prints. That’s just personal preference, but don’t be afraid of big and bold prints if you like it! 🙂

I recently purchased this blouse from Doen and I absolutely love the floral feminine print with the ruffle details! Will definitely continue wearing this into the Spring and Summer.
