WHAT IS FORMULATE?
Formulate is a company that creates a personalized set of shampoo and conditioner based on your hair. It’s preservative free, paraben free, sulfate free, and cruelty free, which are all pluses in my book!

HOW IT WORKS
You start off by doing a detailed survey on your hair goals, your hair type, what scent you want, etc. Once they receive all of that information, they begin engineering your unique blend. You will then be sent a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of conditioner. If you’re not fully happy with your first set, you can have the formula adjusted and a whole new set will be sent to you free of cost. They will make sure to adjust it until you are fully happy with the product.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
For me personally, I have dry hair. It’s probably from coloring and just having naturally dry hair to begin with. I asked for a blend that will help keep moisture in my hair and make it look healthy. After using it for just a couple of weeks, I noticed that my hair and scalp were less dry and less frizzy. I am used to using sulfate free hair products, so the lather was not something that bothered me too much. If you are used to having lots of foamy soap and lather to your shampoo, it’s probably because you’ve been using one that contains sulfate. Sulfate is not great for your hair because it strips the natural oils from your hair and makes is dry and brittle. I did have to make one adjustment with my set, but just as they promised, a whole new set was quickly sent out to me and I’m very happy with it now!

I love love love this sweater! Not only is it comfortable but the bow on the back gives it a little surprise! Its like business on the front and party in the back! Sort of. I wore this to run errands on the weekend and it really was super easy!

Smile Brightly For the Holidays + Giveaway

The holidays are upon us and Iā€™m sure you have parties either with work, friends, or family lined up already! And then right after the Xmas parties, New Years Eve is next! With so many festivities coming up, everyone wants to look their best. I know I do! One of the things I used to be most self conscious about was my smile. I used to have pretty crooked teeth until maybe about a couple of years ago. I spent some money and time to do Invisalign to straighten my teeth and really try my best to take care of them now. They arenā€™t super super straight but much better than they used to be! My next venture was to whiten them!
I do drink a TON of tea so my teeth arenā€™t the whitest which I have thought about getting fixed withĀ professional whitening. Especially around this time of year, Iā€™m consuming tons of chai teas, Pumpkin spiced lattes, and just teas in general so the staining is at a high! Then I was approached byĀ Smile BrilliantĀ and learned about their whitening system. I was very intrigued by being able to createĀ trays that fit my teethĀ perfectly (like Invisalign) so that it maximizes the whitening! I also love that they provide aĀ desensitizing gelĀ so that gum sensitivity isnā€™t too bad. I know this was something I was concerned about until I learned more about how Smile Brilliant prevents that.
Because itā€™s colder now and it gets darker earlier, I really spend a lot of time at home in the evenings. I generally try to whiten before bed, so Iā€™ll put them on with theĀ whitening gelĀ and just either work on my blog, read a book, or just catch up on some shows. After creating my trays and using the system consistently, I have noticed that some of theĀ stains on my teethĀ have gotten better! Itā€™s definitely something I want to continue using and Iā€™m so excited to show my pearly whites and flash my smile at all of the upcoming holiday parties!
